OUR FOUNDER
Guiding a Community
Madhavan B. Nair, widely known as MBN, is an entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and community leader whose work has left a lasting impact on people and institutions across the United States and beyond. Born in Thiruvananthapuram, he began his professional journey at the age of 19 in the Indian Air Force, where he developed the discipline, commitment, and sense of service that would shape the course of his life.
He later entered the world of finance as a member of the Cochin Stock Exchange and a portfolio manager, gaining valuable insight into financial markets and investment strategies. After moving to the United States, he built a distinguished career in financial services.
During his successful tenure at MetLife, he rose to the top ranks of the industry and played a pioneering role in reaching and serving the Asian Indian community. He later founded MBN Insurance & Financial Group, helping families and business owners protect their assets, build wealth, and plan confidently for the future.
An accomplished author, MBN has written several books reflecting his experiences, values, and commitment to personal growth and leadership. He is also an avid golfer and badminton player, appreciating the focus, patience, and discipline that the game demands.
Beyond his professional achievements, MBN has devoted much of his life to community service. He has been a strong advocate for yoga and Ayurveda, promoting their benefits and helping introduce these traditions to wider audiences in the United States.
For more than two decades, he has led the NAMAM Excellence Awards, recognizing entrepreneurs, philanthropists, social workers, and outstanding individuals whose contributions have enriched society and inspired others.
His leadership has extended across numerous organizations. He served as President of FOKANA guiding one of the largest Malayalee organizations in North America during a period of growth and engagement.
Among his most meaningful contributions is the founding of the MBN Foundation, an organization dedicated to health, education, community welfare, and humanitarian service.
MBN's contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including the Velu Thampi Memorial National Award, FOKANA Entrepreneur of the Year, the Adi Shankara Excellence Award, and the Best Trans Atlantic Leader Award from UUKMA.
Madhavan B. Nair's story is defined by a lifelong commitment to serving others, building institutions, and creating opportunities where they did not exist before.

Madhavan B Nair popularly known as MBN is an entrepreneur who is always on the move and actively engaged when it comes to serving the community. MBN is the founder of NAMAM, MBN Foundation (a non-profit dedicated to community health and welfare) and MBN Insurance and Financial Group. MBN is also the past President of FOKANA (2018-2020). For his unending and dedicated efforts towards community welfare and leadership initiatives, MBN was awarded the “Velu Thampy Memorial National Award” in 2018. MBN is also the recipient of the “Adi Shankara Excellence Award” in 2019 and “Best Trans-Atlantic Leader” by UUKMA (Union of UK Malayalee Associations) in 2020.
